Playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers Shohei Ohtani made history through his impeccable performance making him the only person to hit 50 home runs as well as steal 50 bases in a single season.
On Thursday the Dodgers gave a huge beating to the Marlins with a 20-4 win for the Dodgers. During the game Ohtani got more than what he needed to make history taking his home run to 51 and adding 51 steals to his name by the time the Dodgers mopped the floor with the Marlins.
During the first inning Othani made a third base steal, earning him the record. Later on in the game he added another steal to his name.
By the sixth inning Ohtani already was one step closer with his 49th home run and in the next inning he made his 50th home run.
After the game Ohtani stated – “To be honest, I’m the one probably most surprised. I have no idea where this came from, but I’m glad that I performed well.”
The humble superstar not only made a name for himself but also became one of the highest paid baseball players when he signed up with the Dodgers on a 10 year $700 million contract back in December.
Looks Ohtani is proving he is the best on the pitch and with the 50-50 record in a single season it’s looking more like he is destined for the hall of fame.
