NASCAR returns to the Chicago Street Course for the Grant Park 165 on July 7th. Though the racers will drive less track than last year, the prize money will be higher this year. Let’s see the Grant Park 165 purse and payout in 2024.
Last year, the event was named Grand park 220. The Chicago Street Course is a 2.2-mile course, racers had to race for 100 laps to complete the laps. So, the race was 220 miles last year. But this year, the event is shortened to 75 laps, making it a 165-mile race. But this decrease in the race length hasn’t decreased the event’s purse.
2024 the Grant Park 165 Purse will be nearly $7.9 Million. According to Fox Sports reporter Bob Pockrass, the prize will be $7,978,831. So, we can expect that the winner will take a $500,000-600,00 payout from the event.
In 2024, the prize money for the event was nearly $7.5 million. So, there has been an increment of $400,000 in the total payout this year. The prize money is almost $1 million less than last week’s Ally 400.
American racer Joey Logano will be the center of attention after his peak performance in the Ally 400. He will start at the 32nd grid. The Coca-Cola 600 winner Christopher Bell is also in good shape. Kyle Larson will start at the first grid, this may be another win for him after the Toyota Save Mart 350.
The Grant Park 165 will start at 4.30 pm ET. The event will be shown live on NBC. the pre- race show will start from 4 pm ET. You can watch the live stream of the event of NBC’s official app.
