The PGA tour is returning to Illinois, as the John Deere Classic 2024 will take place at the TPC Deere Run. With a major boost in the prize pool, the tournament will start with some of the finest golf players in the world from July 4.
Sepp Straka will get the spotlight, as he won the tournament last year. The golfer has not won any tournament this year, but he has managed to be in the top 5 position in several tournaments. He finished 23 at his last tournament at the Traveler’s Championship.
Jordan Spieth is a top contender for the trophy, as he has won the event two times. Spieth started with flying colors at the beginning of the year, finishing at the third position at the Sentry Tournament. But later, he faded away, and couldn’t show any significant result in any tournament. So, John Dere Can be a comeback for the 3 times major champion.
Sungjae Im, Keith Mitchell, and Aaron Rai will start the tournament with high hopes. The tournament will be played in four rounds, and all four days will be broadcast on the Golf Channel.
John Deere Classic 2024 Purse, What’s the Changes?
As we mentioned earlier, there has been a change in the total prize money. The total John Deere Classic 2024 Purse is $8 Million. The prize money was $7.4 million. So, there has been an increment of $600,00k in this year’s tournament.
The winner of this year’s tournament will receive a $1,440,000.00 payout. In 2023, the winner received a total of $1.332 million. The runner-up of this year’s tournament will get $872,000.00.
The top 65 players will get the prize pool share. there will be a cut of 65 players after the second round. The 65th player will take $17,200 home. Besides the prize pool, the winner of Deere Classic 2024 will get 500 FedEx points.
