We can see this change if we look at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. In 2023, the prize fund for the tournament was $10 Million. The 2024 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is $10.4 Million. So, there has been a raise of $400k in this year’s prize money for the tournament.
The winner of this year’s tournament will receive a record $ $1.56 million. In 2023, Ruoning Yin received $1.5 million for winning the game. The total prize money for the event was $4.5 Million in 2021.
The tournament has taken an interesting state after Round 3. South Korean golfer Amy Yang is in the leading position with -8 points. Lauren Hartlage is holding the second position with -7 points. Miyu Yamashita has climbed down to the third position after the third round with -6 points.
World’s number 1 Nelly Korda is out from the tournament, after her disappointing performance in round 2. World’s number 2 Lilia Vu is holding the T4 position after round 2.
